Hollywood Hills High School is a co-educational public institution open to students of Broward County, Florida. Parents, teachers, administration, staff, students, and business partners in excellence form a school community of instruction, learning, and teaching, enlivened by the spirit of trust, discipline, accountability, and academic freedom.
The primary mission of Hollywood Hills High School is the education of disciplined, knowledgeable and curious young people. Because of our enthusiasm for learning and rigorous instruction, the entire formative process takes place in a climate of respect, hope, and devotion to our students and the educational process. A sincere and deep sense of commitment is expressed and understood through the content of the academic curriculum and in every other dimension of school life. Hollywood Hills High School recognizes that it is the primary right and responsibility of parents to educate their children. It recognizes the obligation of our school to fulfill through education, the mission entrusted to it by our students, school community, and nation. Hollywood Hills High strives to develop within students not only wonder, knowledge and discovery, but a sense of respect for education, for themselves, their community, their country, and society; and the responsibilities which accompany these freedoms. Ultimately, in the process of education, Hollywood Hills High School strives to relate all curriculum and educational endeavors to the world beyond high school, giving the contemporary world men and women of knowledge, integrity, leadership and substance.
Our Mission
The mission of Hollywood Hills High School is to meet the diversified educational needs of all students by actively engaging them in balanced programs offering academic, technological, vocational, and extracurricular activities. We strive to produce life long learners who will become responsible, contributing citizens.
School Beliefs
- All students can learn. Student learning is the chief priority of the school.
- Curriculum and instructional processes should incorporate a variety of learning activities including the use of technology to accommodate differences in learning styles.
- An environment that is safe, drug free and physically comfortable promotes student learning.
- Teachers, administrators, staff, parents, students and community share the responsibility for advancing the school's mission.
- The commitment to continuous improvement is imperative to enable students to become confident, self-directed, life-long, learners.
- Students learn best when they are actively engaged in the learning process.
- Students need not only demonstrate their understanding of essential knowledge and skills, but also become involved in solving problems and producing quality work.
- Students need to apply their learning to situations occurring in everyday life.
- Exceptional students (e.g. Special Education, Limited English Proficiency and Gifted, etc.) require special services and resources as defined by the American Disabilities Act.
