BRACE Program

The BRACE Program is unique to the Broward County Public School System.  

BRACE provides students with information on post-secondary options, such as college, university, technical school, and military service, as well as information on scholarships, financial aid, college admission testing, and the college application process.  Post-secondary information is provided to students through classroom visits, events, and activities throughout the school year.

A BRACE (Broward Advisors for Continuing Education) Advisor is a specialized staff member in every Broward County Public high school dedicated to assisting students with postsecondary planning, including college applications, technical school enrollment, financial aid, and career opportunities. They work with school counselors to prepare students for life after graduation. 

Key Aspects of a BRACE Advisor:

  • Postsecondary Planning: They guide students through college admissions, scholarship applications, and career exploration.
  • Financial Aid Guidance: They assist with FAFSA, Bright Futures scholarships, and other financial aid processes.
  • Unique Support System: BRACE is a program specific to Broward County Public Schools, ensuring dedicated career and education advising.
  • Resource Coordination: They coordinate high school visits from college representatives, military recruiters, and vocational trainers.
  • Career & Workforce: They support students entering the workforce directly by helping with resumes and skill-building. 

Testing Information

Test Registration
Online registration is the fastest method. You will know immediately if your preferred test center has space for you to test, and you also can print your admission ticket.

PSAT/NMSOT
The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) is a program co-sponsored by the College Board and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). It's a standardized test that provides firsthand practice for the SAT®. It also gives you a chance to enter NMSC scholarship programs and gain access to college and career planning tools.

Fee Waivers
Fee waivers are offered to help lower-income students pay for the SAT and SAT Subject Tests. Email our BRACE Advisor for a fee waiver!
